New Academic and Collaborative Initiatives Launched

PKM College of Education launched a series of innovative curricular, extended curricular and collaborative initiatives aimed at enhancing professional competence, social responsibility and holistic development among student teachers and school students. The initiatives were inaugurated by Adv. Sajeev Joseph, MLA, Irikkur. As part of its collaboration with the Government of Kerala’s Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP), the College signed an MoU to function as an ASAP Skill Development Centre and also conducted the valedictory programme of courses organised under the RUSA–ASAP initiative. The College also launched “Stay Resourceful,” an IQAC-led curriculum-based initiative focusing on peer learning, knowledge sharing, innovative thinking and professional skills. The “Yes to Life” Anti-Drug Campaign, in collaboration with Operation Thufan, and the third phase of STEAM@Schools were also inaugurated. “Cadets of Peace@Schools”, an extension of the College’s Cadets of Peace initiative to schools, was launched with the aim of fostering peace consciousness and social responsibility. The College’s initiatives “Share Your Spare” and “Green Schools”, based on sensitivity towards fellow beings and nature, were also highlighted. Rev. Fr. Joy Kattiyankal, Pro-Manager, presided over the function. Dr. Biju R. K., Kannur University Syndicate Member and Principal, P.R.N.S.S. College, Mattannur, delivered the keynote address. Dr. Sinoj Joseph, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Prasanth Mathew, Principal, presented the overview of the initiatives. Former Principal Dr. Jessy N. C. offered felicitations. Mr. Sunil Paul, CEO, Srishti Robotics and Technologies; Mr. Sujeesh, Kerala Manager, ASAP; Mr. Subin Mohan, Deputy Manager, ASAP; Sr. Caroline FCC, Founder of Cadets of Peace, PKM College; and Mr. Tom Christiano George, College Union Chairperson, addressed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Shaji Vadakkethottiyil, Local Manager of the College, was also present. Dr. Veena Appukuttan, IQAC Coordinator and Associate Professor, Department of Social Science, proposed the vote of thanks.
