‘Oppam Oronam’: Onam Celebration at Theresa Bhavan

P.K.M. College of Education, Madampam, in association with NSS Unit 87 and IQAC, celebrated Onam at Theresa Bhavan, Vembuva, Payyavoor, on 20 August 2026 as part of the college’s ‘Oppam’ initiative. The programme brought together student-teachers, teaching and non-teaching staff, and the inmates of the psycho-social rehabilitation centre managed by Brother Saji and his family. The celebration began with a prayer, followed by Onam songs, dances, and engaging games for the inmates. The participants also shared a meal arranged by the centre. As a gesture of support, financial assistance was handed over to Brother Saji on behalf of the P.K.M. family. The visit offered the student-teachers a meaningful Onam experience, inspiring them to embrace the values of compassion, care, sharing, and social responsibility.
